With the booming of the real estate industry in the country focusing on the development of key cities outside the imperial Metro Manila and the administration’s Buil, Build, Build (BBB) Program, one can say that it’s a perfect time to go full force on the real estate business.
However, due to modernization, people changed their way to shop for their dream homes.
People now shy away from traditional flyers and leaflets. The Internet has now become their go-to place in checking their desired houses and community to live in
Lamudi Philippines’ 2015 research shows that more sellers are choosing online platforms to advertise properties.
According to the research, 59 percent of surveyed respondents— the majority of whom are PRC-licensed real estate brokers—said that they are using online listings platforms to advertise their properties. A further 18 percent of these Internet-savvy professionals use social media websites to promote their listings.
Digital 2019, a report from Hootsuite and We are Social showing people’s online behavior around the world, said Filipinos spend an average of 10:02 hours a day on the internet — on any device.
The report also shows that there are 76 million internet users in the country, and all of them are on some form of social media. Seventy-two million Filipinos access them via mobile devices.
This only shows why you need to prioritize your business’s presence online. If that still did not convince you, here are 5 more reasons why real estate brokers like you need to create their own website.
1. You’re In Control
Nic King of Medium.com says “From Zillow and Trulia to Homes.com, they can all get you leads, but at the end of the day, you have to compete against other agents.”
King also said that having your own website gives you more exclusivity of your clients.
“Your own personal website gives you a true home base online. It gives you a place online where you’re the only agent they can contact, and you’re the only agent they are seeing over and over again. Add this plus your ability to add your own touches and style to the site, and a personal website starts looking pretty appealing.”.
2. Build Awareness And Online Presence
“The Internet has become an important tool in the home search process. Real estate agents who do not have a website or listing may be missing out,” said Brian Huang of UpCity.com.
“Although most agents rely on their leads from referrals and repeat business, it’s important to utilize a website to establish name recognition for brand awareness. In the long run, marketing and advertising agent’s own brand will result in more business.”.
3. Self Branding
O2 Real Lead Disrupter Mark Cordy said you have to set yourself apart from the competition.
“You do not want to be just another pretty face on a standard corporate site. By having your own site you are creating your online brand, as your website is a direct reflection of your authority, goals, and services. Homebuyers and sellers want to work with someone they can trust.”.
4. Stay Up To Date
“As realtors, we need to realize the power of the internet in making the sales we need,” said Marc Schenker of Ayatas.com.
“The internet makes it simpler for potential clients to find you and your homes. Having an internet presence will provide all current and potential clients to get in touch with you and the data you have at any time and anywhere.”.
5. Generate Leads
LiveBuyers.com says one of the goals in having a website as a real estate agent is to get consumers off of the billboard sites, and onto yours.
“If your website has similar features like mapping, walk score, school information, historical data, etc – there is no reason for the consumer to leave! An effective real estate agent website will allow you to track visitor activities such as what properties are viewed, saved or Favorited.”.
