Bohol Sandugo Festival

It’s definitely more fun in the Philippines!

Every July, the city of Bohol celebrates a month-long “Sandugo Festival” – in honor of the blood pact that Miguel Lopez de Legaspi (Spanish explorer) and Datu Sikatuna (Bohol’s chieftain) made in 1565, the first international treaty in the Philippines.

With a theme of “One With The World”, 2014’s Sandugo Festival honored the same spirit – but this time, while recovering from the 7.2-magnitude earthquake that happened in Bohol last October 2013.
